A builder grade family home refreshed for modern living. We focused our attention on the first floor of the home updating paint, millwork, and flooring. In the kitchen we maintained the original layout, took the cabinets to the ceiling, added a decorative custom range hood, custom built-in banquet in their breakfast nook, custom millwork, and updated lighting. This family entertains often and they are sports enthusiasts. We designed a custom bar area in the unused “formal” living/dining space. Adding exposed decorative beams and lighting adds interest and encourages this family to use this space for entertaining and hanging out together. We carried the design refresh into the powder bath for continuity.

Project scope: Update and reface kitchen with new doors, adding cabinetry for function, paint, millwork, built-in dining nook, countertops, lighting and appliances. Refresh the stairwell with new modern balusters, millwork and lighting. Design the formal living/dining for entertaining and to give the family a reason to want to use the space on a regular basis and not as a “pass through” when they enter the home. Full remodel of the powder bath. Update and replace all interior doors, baseboards, window and door casings, flooring and paint.
